This was a bucket list experience for me. To be in the water gives a whole other dimension to being close to it all. The sensation of the water around you as you scrape your feet along the ground to feel the roots and knees, primarily so you won't fall face first in the water with your camera.

This experience was at the Big Cypress Gallery owned by Clyde Butcher, to also know I was able to photograph in his back yard and where some of his famous photos are taken was also a marvel.

It had rained the night before and it was foggy, so there was a heavy dew on the earth when we started. But the blue sky prevailed and we had sunlight for the duration of the three hours we were led through the swamp.
